Subterranean
Glass Ceiling
My imagination’s playing tricks again
Getting kicks out of playing with fire
Tangled thoughts run around my brain
Precariously balanced on a high wire
Fragments of light pierce my eye
I’m struck by a razor sharp sunbeam
With glistening splinters that electrify
Shards like glass in a crystal stream
Water Sprites dance in a rainbow prism
A stranger leaves his shadow on the wall
Gossamer wings flit about in the chasm
While I’m left waiting in the entrance hall
I’m lost in a shipwrecked distant dream
The one in which the ceiling shatters
And I float around the space in-between
Where elemental blue is all that matters
My imagination’s playing tricks again
Getting kicks out of playing with fire
Tangled thoughts run around my brain
Precariously balanced on a high wire
Fragments of light pierce my eye
I’m struck by a razor sharp sunbeam
With glistening splinters that electrify
Shards like glass in a crystal stream
Water Sprites dance in a rainbow prism
A stranger leaves his shadow on the wall
Gossamer wings flit about in the chasm
While I’m left waiting in the entrance hall
I’m lost in a shipwrecked distant dream
The one in which the ceiling shatters
And I float around the space in-between
Where elemental blue is all that matters
