Beneath a busy shipping strait lies one of the world’s most incongruous marine ecosystems. A playground of weird and wonderful critters make their home in this murky backdrop characterised by dark, volcanic sand, rubble, and man-made trash. My portfolio showcases portraits of some of the iconic critters found in these waters.

Candy crabs live exclusively on a particular species of soft coral. These stunning crustaceans blend in with the coral’s colour and texture making them hard to find. These little crabs sometimes attach small pieces of coral to themselves, adding further to their crafty disguise.
