Decorating itself with marine debris, an Orangutan crab relaxes on its bubble coral daybed. These delicate crustaceans really do look like a miniature version of the land apes. They are covered in tiny reddish-orange hairs to which they stick all manner of things collected from the reef. It’s their attempt to blend into their surroundings. Small pieces of broken shell, a few grains of sand, tiny pieces of coral, wisps of this and that – anything goes so long as it has aesthetic appeal.
