When I first submerged into this unique, freshwater ecosystem, it took my breath away. Beneath the surface it’s like a jungle, wild and untamed. Stonewort carpets the lake floor, plants vie for space and there’s fresh white blossom in unexpected places. The waterlilies are about as perfect as can be. Once open, each lily flower lasts for between 3 and 5 days.
